The Kia Rio 1.2 LS is Kia’s effort to bring back the popularity of the Rio,,, by giving it a sportier appearance. The shell is longer and lower than the old Rio. While it might be a viable car to “shaya iround”, it certainly is not a babe magnet like it’s competition, namely Vw Polo or Ford Fiesta,,, but it’s a magnet to Babe drivers….lol
What stands out for me is the tiger nose grill,,, it has a personality of its own, it screams attitutude, however the body is very reserved and anti-social,,, the Rio has bipolar vibes.
It is only available in 5 door version, with reasonable sized boots pace and efficient new engine. You will get more kilometers per tank, with better safety features, including airbags. The bumpers and electric side mirrors are colour coded.
It has a comfy interior, with aircon and sporty cloth seats. The transmission is a 5 speed manual shift, electric front and rear windows, USB charger and folding rear seats for extra storage.
You also get the Kia Rio 1.4TEC high spec with a bigger-better engine, and features for days. Bluetooth with voice recognition, 7 inch touch screen LCD display, Apple car play and Android auto, rear view camera, rain sensing wipers and cruise control,,, just to name a few.
I’m not a sangoma but I see this car being popular amongst the female car buyers,,, I certainly would recommend it to my Lady who is a new driver and a first time car buyer, due to its simplified driving experience and safety efforts.
The Kia Rio 1.2 LS will costs you a sobering R253 995 and the Kia Rio 1.4 TEC a levitating R314 995…I would urge all potential buyers to stay home during this trying “lock down” period, while we fight the spread of COVID-19 pandemic. Please engage Kia motors online at www.kiamotors.co.za , where all your queries will be satisfied. All dealerships will be closed for the duration of the lock down, as they are not an essential service, as per The presidents descretion.
